Nevada Breastfeeding Laws
Nevada is a breastfeeding-positive state thanks to state laws that provide workplace lactation protections. In addition to the federal FLSA’s PUMP Act that provides workplace lactation accommodation protections for all breastfeeding employees, Nevada’s laws provide an additional level of support.

Mothers in Nevada have the right to breastfeed in public. Read the law: Nev. Rev. Stat. § 201.232
NV Breastfeeding Laws: At Work
All breastfeeding employees are protected by the federal FLSA’s PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act and entitled to reasonable break time and a private space (other than a bathroom) to pump at work for one year. But Nevada state law also requires employers to support all breastfeeding employees by providing reasonable break time and a space (other than a bathroom) to pump at work for one year following their child’s birth. A private employer with fewer than 50 employees may be exempt from this law if complying with the requirements would cause an undue hardship. Read the law: Assembly Bill No. 113
NV Breastfeeding Information + Resources
Effective January 1, 2022 all courthouses in Nevada must have a lactation room for members of the public. Read the law: Assembly Bill No. 196
Nevada law exempts breastfeeding mothers from public indecency laws.
Nevada Breastfeeds is a state-wide organization with the goal to “share education and resources for parents, businesses and the healthcare industry to support and promote breastfeeding in Nevada.” Visit here.
